Spray tan: pre and post care

To make sure you get the most out of your tan, please read the pre- and post-care instructions carefully.

PRE:

  • Exfoliate your entire body with a coarse scrub the night or at least an hour before your treatment. Do not use a creamy scrub. Concentrate on areas of dead skin build-up, e.g. knees, elbows and ankles.
  • After exfoliation the night before, apply a very light, non-oily moisturiser that will absorb quickly. Nurse’s Own Aqueous Cream is recommended. Do not apply any moisturiser on the day of your tan.
  • If you want spray tan on your face too, do not apply any deodorant, perfume or make-up, as these will interfere with the tanning solution.
  • Wax: two days prior treatment. Shave: 24 hours prior treatment.
  • Bring loose fitting, dark clothes and open shoes, as well as a dark G-string/swimwear to wear during the treatment. If at all possible, forgo your bra. Dark trunks or boxer shorts are recommended for the men.
  • If it is raining on the day of your treatment, please remember to bring an umbrella!

POST:

  • After your treatment, do not shower, bath or swim for at least eight hours. This will allow the tan to develop to its maximum. Water contact stops the tanning process immediately and may result in an uneven/streaky tan. It is best to refrain from exercise too, as sweating and any friction will affect the results.
  • Shower after the developing time has passed. Some excess bronzer will wash off during the first shower, leaving you with the end result. It is recommended to wash twice during your first shower – first with clean water (to wash all the bronzer off), then with a ph 5.5 balance soap/shower gel. Pat skin dry with a towel.
  • Moisturise twice daily to prolong your tan.
  • Long baths, steam rooms, chlorinated pools, saunas and sweating will cause your tan to fade faster.
  • To maintain your tan, use transformer luxe for best results.
  • Your tan will last seven to ten days – depending on your skin type and how well you maintain it. It will start to fade gradually. To ensure your tan fades evenly, it is best to start exfoliating your skin gently in those areas. Do this when your skin is moist, e.g. while in the shower. Use a buff sponge.
  • Do not wear satin clothing or sleep in satin sheets before your first shower. Satin fabric can promote sweating, which may create streaks.
  • Do not rub or scratch your skin while your tan is developing – this may cause streaks.
  • If you are getting into a car with leather seats on a hot day, it is recommended to sit on a towel as leather promotes sweating.
  • Apply sunscreen to prevent sunburn. Spray tans do not protect your skin against the sun’s harmful UV rays.
  • Avoid using any moisturisers or products that contain Glycolic Alpha Hydroxy Acids and Sodium Laureth Sulphate, as these ingredients promote increased exfoliation and will accelerate the fading process of the tan.
  • Try to avoid shaving or waxing following your spray tan application. Shaving can cause the tan to look patchy. If you need to shave, use a fresh blade and shaving cream to avoid scratching the skin.

 Enjoy the new sun-kissed you!

  • Black Head Black Friday⚫️ // Let's clear out the blockage⠀
⠀
Do you struggle to keep those constant black heads away?⠀
⠀
Blackhead aka comedones are formed due to open pores that are clogged by dead skin cells and sebum. The blocked pore reacts with oxygen in the air, causing it to turn black.⠀
⠀
One misconception is that blackheads are dirt in your pores. Blackheads have nothing to do with dirt. When your skin's natural cell turnover process is sluggish, your pores collect a backlog of oil and dead skin cells.
⠀
Just remember, that you may not be able to completely rid your skin of comedones, but you can refine your pore size to minimize the appearance of them. ⠀
This is why I would suggest using a retinoid to help increase the cell turnover rate, keeping your pores clear.⠀
Happy weekend 🌿

  • About Nicola // "My mom always taught me one thing. If a man looks after his hands he will definitely look after you.⠀
⠀
First impressions usually last, and hands can be the way to project that. We greet each other by hand gesture and shaking. Think about it... shaking hands with someone is often your first point of contact with them.⠀
⠀
Hand grooming - this is a small detail, that we all should actually pay attention to. ⠀

  • Whats New (s) // LUNA 2 mini ⠀
⠀
Customise your cleansing experience. ⠀
⠀
Do you ever feel like your cleanser just doesn't clean your skin enough and you need something more? Something that removes all the dirt and impurities? However, over cleansing with the wrong cleanser can do more harm to your skin than good. So what do you do?⠀
⠀
This is when I discovered the LUNA 2.⠀
⠀
LUNA 2 is a unisex cleansing tool suitable for all skin types. It drives away dead skin cells and unclogs 99.5% of pores from dirt and oil aka make up. ⠀
⠀
And unlike other cleansing devices with bristles that require excess sterilisation and transfer bacteria onto your skin, the LUNA 2 is made from an ultra-hygienic silicone that is nonporous and resist bacteria buildup. Preventing transfer of bacteria (??) and making your skin glow. ⠀

  • Saturday skincare tip // ⠀
Remember Sun burn fades but Sun Damages last.⠀
⠀
Even on cloud covered days UVA rays damage to your skin is still the same. So wear you SPF daily even when in door or out doors.⠀
⠀
Our darken skin types skin will even darken with SPF applied because of the type of melanin by just daily exposure but it is the damage that you want to avoid.⠀
Our lighter skin type are less fortunate and our damage is obtained quicker.⠀
⠀
So look after your skin - you would regret the good choices you make today.⠀

  • Men's Health // Movember
Skincare / Skin health should be as important to men as it is to women.

As November is the month to bring awareness to men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide. I think we should also bring awareness to skin health as men actually have a higher rate of skin cancer than women.
When it comes to the skin, men have thicker, more oily skins with larger pores.
So cleansing it properly should be essential to avoid build up of dead skin cells, clogging of pores and to make sure you remove the dirt and impurities off the skin.

For all men suffering from beard ingrown hair aka
Pseudofolliculitis Barbae.

I recommended the Luna 2 - 3-In-1 Facial Scrub Brush, Pre-Shaving& Anti-Aging Device.

Easy to use and resulting in your razor blades to last twice as long. For more info please contact me. #movember #menskincare #skincaretip #awareness #testicularcancer #prostatecancer #skincancer #skinhealth #layersskin #foreo #luna2 #folliculitis
