Lash extensions: pre and post

Eyelash extensions increase the length, volume and thickness of your natural lashes. It is a pain-free process and they feel weightless on your eyes. They are also water resistant, so you can shower, swim and exercise without damaging them.

  • As a rule, avoid scratching your eyes as this can cause your lashes to break.
  • Remove all eyeshadow and/or mascara before you come to your treatment.
  • If you want to tint your lashes, do this 24 hours prior to your appointment.
  • Remove your contact lenses.
  • Decide whether you want to add length (long extensions) or volume (short extensions).
  • If your eyes are swollen, red or itchy you will have to wait for it to clear up before any treatment can commence.
  • Contraindications: chemo clients, allergic reactions to product or any infections.

  • Do not wet the extensions for 10 hours after application.
  • Any moisturisers, eye creams, oily or creamy eye make-up removers will act as a debonder to the glue, so take care when washing your face, making circles around the eyes.
  • Use eye make-up remover wipes to remove eyeshadow or eyeliner. Close your eyes and wipe gently. Chrissanthie eyelid cleanser is recommended. Cleanse the rest of your face with normal facial cleanser.
  • Do not rub your eyes or pull your extensions. Rather use the brush supplied. Pulling the lashes out will remove your extensions and hurt or damage the hair follicle, stunting future hair growth.
  • Curling of lash extensions are NOT recommended, especially NOT with a heated curler.
  • Do not use mascara as this will remove the lash extensions. Only use mascara when most of them have fallen out. Special lash extension mascara is available .
  • Be careful when you wash your hair as shampoo/conditioner can run into your eyes and constant rubbing/moisture can remove the extensions.
  • Avoid saunas and steam rooms for 48 hours after your treatment.

How long do they last? The lash extensions are semi-permanent and can last anything between three and six weeks, depending on the growth cycle of your natural lashes.

How do I take care of my extensions? Do no rub, pick or pull your extensions. Refrain from using the wrong products (see post-care tips). Comb them regularly with the brush supplied. If any eyeshadow falls on the lashes, wet the brush and gently comb them.

Do eyelash extensions harm my own lashes? No. Your extensions will fall out with your natural lashes. This is perfectly normal. Your own lashes will grow back naturally.

How long will the treatment take? The application of a Classic full set takes +/- two hours.

How often should I come for my lash extensions? In order to maintain your extensions, you will need to come every two to four weeks.

Can eyelash extension be applied to sensitive eyes? Yes, but inform your therapist.

Do I need a break from eyelash extensions? No, unless your therapist recommends otherwise. This would probably be advised if it looks like your natural lashes have been plucked or pulled. A break would be up to four weeks.

How do I remove my extensions? Lash extensions fall out natuarlly or they can be removed with a salon soak off, taking 30 minutes or less. Do not pull or pluck them, as this will damage your natural lashes.

PLEASE NOTE: A full set of lash extensions cannot be guaranteed with late arrivals.

  • Black Head Black Friday⚫️ // Let's clear out the blockage⠀
Do you struggle to keep those constant black heads away?⠀
Blackhead aka comedones are formed due to open pores that are clogged by dead skin cells and sebum. The blocked pore reacts with oxygen in the air, causing it to turn black.⠀
One misconception is that blackheads are dirt in your pores. Blackheads have nothing to do with dirt. When your skin's natural cell turnover process is sluggish, your pores collect a backlog of oil and dead skin cells.
Just remember, that you may not be able to completely rid your skin of comedones, but you can refine your pore size to minimize the appearance of them. ⠀
This is why I would suggest using a retinoid to help increase the cell turnover rate, keeping your pores clear.⠀
Happy weekend 🌿

  • About Nicola // "My mom always taught me one thing. If a man looks after his hands he will definitely look after you.⠀
First impressions usually last, and hands can be the way to project that. We greet each other by hand gesture and shaking. Think about it... shaking hands with someone is often your first point of contact with them.⠀
Hand grooming - this is a small detail, that we all should actually pay attention to. ⠀

  • Whats New (s) // LUNA 2 mini ⠀
Customise your cleansing experience. ⠀
Do you ever feel like your cleanser just doesn't clean your skin enough and you need something more? Something that removes all the dirt and impurities? However, over cleansing with the wrong cleanser can do more harm to your skin than good. So what do you do?⠀
This is when I discovered the LUNA 2.⠀
LUNA 2 is a unisex cleansing tool suitable for all skin types. It drives away dead skin cells and unclogs 99.5% of pores from dirt and oil aka make up. ⠀
And unlike other cleansing devices with bristles that require excess sterilisation and transfer bacteria onto your skin, the LUNA 2 is made from an ultra-hygienic silicone that is nonporous and resist bacteria buildup. Preventing transfer of bacteria (??) and making your skin glow. ⠀
For more info on this product please email me.⠀

  • Saturday skincare tip // ⠀
Remember Sun burn fades but Sun Damages last.⠀
Even on cloud covered days UVA rays damage to your skin is still the same. So wear you SPF daily even when in door or out doors.⠀
Our darken skin types skin will even darken with SPF applied because of the type of melanin by just daily exposure but it is the damage that you want to avoid.⠀
Our lighter skin type are less fortunate and our damage is obtained quicker.⠀
So look after your skin - you would regret the good choices you make today.⠀

  • Men's Health // Movember
Skincare / Skin health should be as important to men as it is to women.

As November is the month to bring awareness to men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide. I think we should also bring awareness to skin health as men actually have a higher rate of skin cancer than women.
When it comes to the skin, men have thicker, more oily skins with larger pores.
So cleansing it properly should be essential to avoid build up of dead skin cells, clogging of pores and to make sure you remove the dirt and impurities off the skin.

For all men suffering from beard ingrown hair aka
Pseudofolliculitis Barbae.

I recommended the Luna 2 - 3-In-1 Facial Scrub Brush, Pre-Shaving& Anti-Aging Device.

Easy to use and resulting in your razor blades to last twice as long. For more info please contact me. #movember #menskincare #skincaretip #awareness #testicularcancer #prostatecancer #skincancer #skinhealth #layersskin #foreo #luna2 #folliculitis
  • About Nicola // Micro blading best decision I have made!⠀
I am not a tattoo person at all and get bored very quickly with things. So I thought this will never be for me but how pleasantly surprised I was. ⠀
Most people at first glance think my brows are naturally this way. I actually find it to be a complement as they appear natural and that was what I wanted.⠀⠀
I find that brows do frame your eyes and face. So by just applying foundation after my spf in the” morning, my face looks done.⠀
Some indivuals have gorgeous brows and I will say never change them but for those less fortunate like I was - micro blade them. ⠀
My micro blading was done my Margaret Osborne permanent make up. Please have a look at her Facebook page. #microblading #natural #brows #layersskin #aboutme #permanentmakeup #skintips #beautytips
